Coupling in practical application can be divided into heavy, medium, small and light according to the size of the torque delivered.

Heavy universal coupling is often used in metallurgical machinery, heavy machinery, petroleum machinery, engineering machinery, lifting machinery. Medium and light universal couplings are often used in automobiles, machine tools and other vehicles and light industrial machinery. Small universal coupling is mainly used to transfer motion, generally used in precision machinery and control mechanisms.
Points for attention in the use of coupling

1.Coupling is not allowed to exceed the specified axis line skew and radial displacement, so as not to affect its transmission performance.

2.After the universal coupling is installed, the normal operation of a shift, must check all fastening screws, such as loose, must be tightened again with the specified tightening torque, so repeated several shifts, to ensure that not loose.

3.Universal coupling sliding surface, crosshead, bearing, etc., must ensure lubrication, generally with 2# industrial lithium base grease or 2# calcium molybdenum disulfide grease, under normal conditions for continuous operation 500 hours once, interrupted operation for 2 months once, if working under high temperature conditions must be refueling once a week, refueling the bearing end face oil hole screw off, Fill with high pressure oil gun until overflow.

4.Coupling daily maintenance, such as indentation and other normal wear phenomenon, should be replaced in time; The coupling is not allowed to have cracks, such as cracks need to be replaced (can be knocked with a small hammer, according to the sound of judgment); In the maintenance of disassembly, the cross shaft will be turned 180 degrees, in order to achieve the journal force alternate use.

5.Gear coupling tooth width contact length shall not be less than 70%; Its axial channeling momentum shall not exceed 5mm.

6.Gear coupling tooth thickness wear, lifting mechanism more than 15% of the original tooth thickness, more than 25% of the operating mechanism should be scrapped, broken teeth should also be scrapped.

7.The elastic ring of the pin coupling, the sealing ring of the gear coupling, if there is damage aging, should pay attention to timely replacement.

8.In the operation, it is necessary to observe whether the universal coupling has abnormal radial swing and bearing heating and other phenomena, and find that these phenomena must be maintained in time.
